Cambuslang Rugby Club are getting ready for their first game in six weeks this weekend.
Cambus are due to travel to face Stewartry this weekend, after the recent improvement in the weather.
Coach Scott Forrest says his side are making the trip with mixed emotions - they want to play a game, but not so close to Christmas!
He said: “It’s looking like this weekend’s game is going to be on.
“It’s typical - we’ve not played a game for weeks, and then, when it comes to the weekend when we’d rather have it free, it’s likely to go ahead.
“It’s great to get a game on, but the frustrating thing is a few of the boys won’t be available, and we won’t have our strongest team available.
“A couple of weeks ago we really wanted to get the game on as we had our strongest squad available so far this season. Being the time of year it is, and being away, we’ll be missing a few players, like Michael Dick, who’s working till 1pm and won’t make it down for the kick off at 2pm.
“Our back line will be the same as it has been for the last four or five games, but we’ll be struggling a bit up front, with four of our front row missing.
“Stewartry were beaten at Carrick at the weekend, so they’ve had a chance to blow off the cobwebs, so they’ll be a bit fresher than us on Saturday.”
Scott added: “By all reports, the pitch is going to be fine.
“The only thing that will call it off would be a heavy frost.”
