Rugby: Young players score success in mini tournament

CAMBUSLANG Rugby Club’s primary four team had that winning feeling recently.

The Host Clubs Mini Tournament was held at Glasgow Academicals over at Anniesland.

In their first game with GHK it finished 4-1 to Cambuslang; and they followed it up with a 7-2 win over the Accies second team, and in the last group match with Dalziel the score was 7-0 to Cambuslang.

They then played the final against Accies’ first team in the final and the score was 7-1 to Cambuslang.

The captain of the team holding the cup was Oliver Dalby of Brownside Road. The cup and medals were presented by three members of the Glasgow Warriors.

The club’s mini section are on the lookout for new players.

The children can be aged from primary one up to primary seven. They should go along at 12.45pm for a 1pm start.

They should bring a long sleeved training top, tracksuit bottoms and shorts, and preferably a pair of boots or training shoes.

Youngsters should also bring a change of clothes and a towel, especially if it rains and there’s a chance the youngsters will get dirty.
