Phoenix Thai Boxing Club's success at competition

PHOENIX Thai Boxing Club had two of their junior fighters competing on a junior show held at Base Muay Thai gym in Longcroft, near Falkirk.

Both boys did the club proud, with eight-year-old Corey McLachlan chalking up his second victory in three fights with an impressive first round stoppage over his opponent Aiden Anderson from Grangemouth.

But 11-year-old Ryan Gunn was not so fortunate, taking on young Aiden’s big brother Tony in a hard-fought five round battle.

It was a very close fight, but the judges’ decision went in favour of Tony Anderson.

Coach Rab Izat said: “It was a great performance from both youngsters, and they were awarded bout of the day.”

Tony will now take on Phoenix star TJ Everett in a Scottish title bid in Johnstone on Saturday.
