MOTORISTS in the Somerset area were shocked to see a pensioner riding his mobility scooter whilst carrying a massive role of carpet.

The pensioner was caught on camera driving at the top speed of 8mph along a road with the carpet stick out atleast 3ft on each side.

In the footage, the scooter driver blocks the entire lane of road as motorists driving in the opposite direction can be seen trying to avoid hitting the carpet.
