Trams could face two-year delay

A tram project for Edinburgh may not be finished for another two years, it has emerged.

The tram system, which will have 23 stops across Edinburgh, had been forecast to be completed by spring 2012.

But Edinburgh Trams said the latest revised programme, by one of the contractors Bilfinger Berger, proposed a delay which would extend the project by 30 months. It would mean the project would not be complete until January 2014.
