Ex-council boss treated in rehab

The former leader of Scotland's biggest council is recovering after being treated at a private rehab clinic.

Steven Purcell, seen as a rising star in the Labour Party, stunned colleagues on Tuesday by unexpectedly quitting his post at Glasgow City Council on health grounds.

His representatives said he was suffering from stress and exhaustion.
