Government is 'wasting' teachers

Ministers have been accused by Labour of letting talented teachers go to waste by not providing jobs for them.

The charge was made at First Minister's Questions where Labour leader Iain Gray called on Alex Salmond to act.

Mr Gray cited the case of sisters Lynne and Cara McAllister, both newly-qualified teachers who, unable to find permanent teaching jobs, are considering going abroad.
