Hunt for schoolboy abduction man

Police launched an urgent appeal for witnesses after a man tried to lure a schoolboy into his car.

The incident in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, on Monday, was the latest in a number of attempted child abductions being investigated by detectives in the west of Scotland in recent weeks.

Strathclyde Police said the 12-year-old was making his way home from school along the town's Severn Road at around 4.10pm when he was approached by a man.
