A Burnside girl is set to be a dancing queen - after earning a part in a version of the hit musical Mamma Mia.
Kiera Mullen (12), will play the role of Lisa, one of the best friends and bridesmaids of main character Sophie, in a version of the show that is taking place this Friday and Saturday at Larkhall Leisure Centre.
The St Aloysius’ College pupil is over the moon to have earned the part.
She said: “I’m really excited. The music is really good and the show is fun.
“It’s been a bit tiring going to rehearse in Larkhall - but I’ve been getting more and more excited as the show gets nearer.
“I really like Abba’s music too.”
Kiera attends the Stagecoach theatre school in Newton Mearns, near Glasgow, and has loved the theatre and musicals from an early age.
Her mum Irene is proud and delighted at her daughter’s success.
She added: “She’s been doing this since she was about five years old and really loves it.
“She has always loved singing and dancing and we’re all looking forward to the show.
“We’ve had Abba on a lot in the house and the car, so I’m used to all the songs now as well!
“It’s been quite a lot of hard work for her, and she’s done really well. I’ve always liked the theatre, so I was always happy to take Kiera along to see shows when she was younger.
“Although I love shows I was never talented at taking part in them, whereas she’s a very talented singer!”
The production of Mamma Mia will be held at Larkhall Leisure Centre on February 22 at 7.30pm, and on February 23 at 2.30pm and again at 7.30pm.
Prices are £10 for adults, £6:50 for OAPs or children, £8 for students (an ID is required) .
