A Christmas carol concert and party for the whole family is on the way this weekend.
Now that it is less than two weeks to go until Christmas Day, to help get the community into the festive mood, the Friends of Cambuslang Park and Project 31 are jointly organising a short activity and musical event for the youngsters this Sunday, December 16.
The event will take place in the Cambuslang Parish Church hall on Cairns Road and, weather permitting, this will be followed in the park at 4.30pm by a short carol singing session.
In the hall session there will be party games and craft activities.
These will alternate in different halls so everyone gets a turn at each.
The music will consist of traditional children’s Christmas songs and all are expected to give it their best and sing heartily.
There will also be a karaoke with guitar accompaniment and presents will be provided by Project 31.
Project 31 is a Cambuslang-based organisation which aims to get families having fun together in a safe environment.
The party will run from 2–4pm.
As places this year are limited, it is important to book now by calling Lorna on 0780 081 0814 or Elizabeth on 0779 163 5389.
A spokesman for the Friends of Cambuslang Park said: “All, especially families and children, are warmly invited to attend, but, as always, young children should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Entry is, of course, free.
“If you and the children are free, do join us in your favourite Christmas songs and help to swell the joyful sounds as we all prepare for the happiest time of the year.”
Those who are unable to attend the party will be more than welcome to join in with the carol singing in the park.
Last year’s event, the first time it had been held, proved to be very successful, with singers enjoying themselves in the snowy surrounds of the park.
