PRIMARY school pupils are set for a fun time at Cathkin and Stonelaw High Schools next week.
Each year Strathclyde University work with South Lanarkshire Council to deliver projects called 7Up!
These are aimed at easing the transition from primary seven into first year at high school.
All feeder primaries for each of the high schools are invited to send pupils along.
The whole idea is that they get to find their way around the school, meet some new people who may be in their class when they go into first year, work with some of the senior school pupils, and generally have a good time whilst learning!
The projects are delivered by trained student mentors and primary school teachers, who have also worked for as mentors before qualifying as teachers.
The projects normally run during the Easter holidays.
However, this year, due to the demand of running five projects in total, there are two of them next week during the mid-term break from school.
They are on Monday and Tuesday at Cathkin and Stonelaw (both days).
A variety of fun activities have been lined up for the youngsters.
These include a forensics lab, featuring test tubes with coloured liquids, a DNA challenge and a robotics challenge.
