Rutherglen over fifties invited to Young at Heart Festival

AN ARTS festival aimed at South Lanarkshire’s 50-plus age group starts soon.

The Young at Heart festival hopes to build on the success of the past four years. Events will run at a variety of venues until Sunday, March 28.

This year sees the return of many of the most popular events such as free recitals, craft fair, exhibitions, film screening, author visits and tea dances.

There will also be new courses and workshops including the chance to have a go at printmaking or ceramics.

A host of exciting performances will be on offer, including Quattro MacJazz featuring Alastair McDonald at Rutherglen Town Hall on Monday, March 22.

At the same venue on Wednesday, March 24, there will be a performance of the play “The Tenement”.
