CAMBUSLANG and Rutherglen Community Healthy Initiative are offering locals the chance to get on their bike - and get healthy in more ways than one.
For they are happy to hire out their Healthy Happy Shake machine to community groups - an exercise bike and smoothie maker all in one!
It's the pedal powered blender that makes a delicious smoothie.
The bike is an innovative resource. A standard pedal bike has been fitted to a stand, so it is stationary.
Pedaling the bike powers the blender on the back.
Add your favourite fruits, and hey presto - you make a smoothie!
A spokesman said: “Kids and teenagers just love the bike, they can't get enough of it!
“It's the perfect way to experience healthy eating and exercise at the same time.
“The bike promotes healthy living in an engaging and entertaining way.
“The bike is being used as a fun educational tool for children and young people about the importance of healthy eating and exercise.
“Simply power the pedals to make the blender spin, so whilst you cycle away you're also making yourself a delicious, healthy drink.”
The Cambuslang and Rutherglen Community Health Initiative are offering the Healthy Happy Shake machine to local groups interested in hiring it for a day, a week or even longer.
Anyone interested in hiring the bike for events should contact Esther on 646 0123 or esther@healthynhappy.org.uk for further information on the initiative
