Special Olympics hopefuls are given cash boost by local store

NISA superstore in Cambuslang has donated a cheque for £100 for athletes travelling to the Special Olympics.

Receiving the cheque was Cambuslang man John Logue who has previously raised funds for the cause.

He wrote a letter to Nisa directors in London asking for a donation.

He said: “We put a letter in for a donation to London to their directors.

“They replied and sent us a £100 cheque which we’re very grateful for.”

John previously organised a car wash at Cambuslang Fire Station as his daughter Rebecca will be competing at the games in netball.

The money will go towards care and accommodation for the athletes who will be representing the West of Scotland.

Thank you: John Logue and Gordon McCormack receive a cheque from the Nisa manager.
