BURNHILL New Age Kurling Club were delighted to receive a new sponsor recently.
Clearview Windscreens, based in Cambuslang have very generously donated much-needed equipment for the club.
Company owner Stuart McKay was on hand to deliver fleeces especially embroidered with the Scottish Saltire on the back, as the team is taking part in the world singles and doubles in Cheshire in April.
There are 14 Scottish players taking part and 140 players from England, and Stuart hopes the Saltire will inspire the players, and even though they are outnumbered, they will do well.
Stuart added he has watched the team training and admired the dedication and commitment the whole squad is putting in for this competition, Clearview Windscreens are delighted to sponsor and support the squad.
David Morgan, chairman of the Burnhill Squad and Scottish skipper was delighted with the sponsorship.
He added: “This is a fantastic gesture and just in time for the world singles and doubles, we have been planning this trip for a while and with Stuart’s generosity, we will definitely fly the flag for Scotland.
“At present we have a player ranked in the world’s top 10, but we want a victory in the singles and doubles, and for more players to move up the rankings.
“The players are able enough, and even though we are outnumbered 10 to one we will do our best for the silverware.
“Stuart has also given us a huge Scottish saltire banner, which will inspire the team, and let the competition know that they will have Scottish players to contend with.”
