THERE was a special double celebration at Cathkin Primary School recently.
And the winning children from all 13 classes were presented with certificates for poetry recitation.
Guest of honour was Rev. Maggie McArthur, from Fernhill and Cathkin Church, who was photographed with some of the children.
In the afternoon, the hall was packed with parents for the Burns Anniversary ceilidh.
Primary sevens demonstrated the dances and the parents were more than happy to join in. The raffle was popular with prizes such as a haggis, neep and tatties, Irn Bru, porridge, oatcakes and shortbread. In fact, the children’s ceilidh was such a success it could well be the start of a new tradition at Cathkin Primary School.
