Unwanted festive presents appeals

THE hunt is on to find a charity who wants a load of unwanted Christmas gifts.

According to Oxfam, last year more than £1.2bn was wasted on over 87 million unwanted Christmas gifts.

The promoters of Unwanted, a concert headlined by Glasgow band Passionate Friends, with Cambuslang bass player Allan McNeill, are keen to team up with a charity who could benefit from the hoards of unwanted gifts.

Gig-goers at the Admiral, Glasgow, on December 28 will be asked to bring along their surplus socks, fragrances etc. as a donation.

Malky McNeill of Petted Lip Promotions said: “This is both a statement of environmental awareness, by recycling these unwanted items, as well as helping those in need at Christmas".

Charities keen to be involved, or anyone interested in tickets for the event, should e-mail unwanted@PettedLip.com
