Don’t tar them all with same brush

IT STRIKES me as one of the tragedies of the recent expenses controversy that good, hard working representatives have been tarred with the same brush as the duck pond maintainers and the second home flippers.

It does not seem to me unreasonable that if an MSP lays a remembrance wreath on behalf of the community, then the community might share the cost.

Robert Brown is an excellent, diligent MSP (as is James Kelly I might add – this is not party political point scoring here).

Mr Brown has made it clear that he also gives privately to the Earl Haig Fund. He should not receive criticism for laying wreaths as part of his public duties.
